All Pressmaster hand tools should be calibrated every 5000 cycles to ensure proper performance
All Pressmaster hand tools should be calibrated every 5000 cycles to ensure proper performance. Calibration requires gauging the die nests and measuring the preload against the specifications for the tool. Gauging can be accomplished with Go/No-Go or standard gauges. The preload can be measured with the HTC100 Hand Tool Calibrator.

Preload is the amount of force applied to the handles when the tool is cycled without crimping. The force must be measured at 40 mm from the end of the handles when the ratchet releases. Preload prestresses the frame to compensate for the deflection caused by the actual crimping pressure, and for clearances within the tool. It insures that the tool will close completely and consistently with each crimp cycle, which will provide consistent high quality crimping performance.

The HTC100 Hand Tool Calibrator is a rugged accurate device that will measure the preload of any Pressmaster hand tool. It uses a microprocessor controlled digital force gauge to measure the force applied to the handle. It is available with and without an RS232C port for transferring the data to a PC or other media responding to RS232C signals.
