TE Features Cutting-Edge Undersea Umbilical Cable Solutions At Oceanology International

Offering a Closer Look at New Advanced Developments for the Harsh Undersea Environment

TE Connectivity (TE), the leading global provider of electrical components, connectors, network solutions and specialty products, will be featuring new advanced developments for undersea umbilical cables at Oceanology International 2012, at Booth N255 on 13-15 March 2012 in London.

STEEL-LIGHT and ELECTRO-LIGHT cables – A tight-buffered optical fiber design for umbilical cables is designed for dynamic performance in harsh environments.

XLPE Umbilical Cables – TE now uses cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) as an insulation option for undersea umbilical cables. Using XLPE reduces the wall thickness of the insulation, reducing the size and weight, allowing umbilical cables attached to ROVs to become longer.
