Ocean Optics Names New VP Of Operations

Dunedin, FL — Ocean Optics, a global leader in optical sensing, display optics, and biophotonics technologies, has appointed Richard Pollard to the position of Vice President of Operations.

As VP of Operations, Pollard is tasked with managing the company's engineering and manufacturing processes, developing new systems, and guiding the strategic growth of the company. Ocean Optics is a subsidiary of the UK based Halma Plc. and develops and manufactures products at its facilities in Orlando, Largo, and Dunedin, Florida. Pollard will be based at the Orlando manufacturing facility, using his global experience and fluency in French, German and Czech to work with customers and partners around the world.

Pollard comes to Ocean Optics from sister Halma group company, Radcom Technologies (Hampshire, UK), where he served as Managing Director. His career has spanned a wide range of industries including electronics (Viasystems Tyneside Ltd., Tyne & Wear, UK), automotive (Ford Motor Company, Essex, UK), and medical products (Keeler Ltd, Berkshire, UK). He has held engineering and management positions in these varied high- and low-volume manufacturing companies, implementing Total Productive Management, Lean Manufacturing and other quality programs.

Pollard, a Professional Chartered Engineer, holds an MBA and a BEng degree from Brunel University (Middlesex, UK).
