MRV Communications Receives IBM System Storage Proven Status For LambdaDriver WDM
Chatsworth, CA - MRV Communications, Inc., a leading provider of products and services for out-of-band networking, WDM and optical transport, metro Ethernet, fiber-optic components, 10GE and other service aware networking products, recently announced IBM, Inc. has certified its LambdaDriver WDM systems to be compatible with IBM's storage area networking (SAN) infrastructure through its System Storage Proven program.
IBM's System Storage Proven program is built on the premise of garnering customers' confidence that a certified solution provides the best combination of integrated storage and networking technologies to help minimize investment risk, increase efficiency and expedite infrastructure implementation. The System Storage Proven mark represents solutions that have successfully completed interoperability requirements with system storage products and have obtained IBM certification.
Testing was conducted at the IBM Global Technology Unit Labs, which houses the System Storage Proven Program and supports end-to-end interoperability and performance testing of SAN products in multi-vendor environments.
"With the enterprise market's seemingly insatiable need for more storage, the speed and bandwidth provided by the LambdaDriver platform enables network administrators to architect solutions to meet this trend," said Noam Lotan, president and CEO of MRV Communications. "Earning interoperability certification by a reputable SAN solutions provider like IBM assures customers that our solutions will be able to provide the highest performance when integrated with other System Storage Proven certified products."
About MRV's LambdaDriver Platforms
MRV's LambdaDriver platform provides one of the most flexible WDM networking solutions for both enterprises and service providers looking to maximize their existing fiber infrastructure. Three active chassis (LD400, LD800 and LD1600) and two passive chassis (LDP100 and LDP300) with interchangeable modules provide a solution for any network size and service density. Transparent transport allows support for all high-speed LAN, WAN or SAN services. Sub-rate TDM technology allows even more efficient use of the available fiber by aggregating low rate protocols over one wavelength. The LambdaDriver platforms support both CWDM and DWDM technologies, thus enabling a cost efficient initial investment in infrastructure with CWDM and a smooth upgrade path towards full capacity DWDM networks. LambdaDriver platforms are NEBS certified.
