Time Warner Telecom Completes 480-Mile Fiber Network Ring For Businesses In Silicon Valley

San Francisco - Time Warner Telecom Inc., a provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for businesses, announced the completion of its 480-mile fiber ring in the Bay Area. The fully redundant DWDM SONET protected fiber ring extends service from San Francisco, the East Bay and Walnut Creek to the Silicon Valley cities of Palo Alto, San Jose, Santa Clara and Sunnyvale.

Time Warner Telecom operates and maintains a national fiber network infrastructure and a 10 Gbps IP backbone delivering state-of-the-art Ethernet- based communications services and converged voice and data solutions to enterprise and carrier customers across the U.S.

Time Warner Telecom's fiber network infrastructure enables the company to deliver fully meshed Ethernet services within cities and between cities. The Equinix Internet Business Exchange (IBX) data center and Switch and Data's PAIX data center now have fully redundant and dual-path access to Time Warner Telecom's nationwide network.
