VERSITRON'S fiber optic multiplexer, the Versimux, offers unprecedented flexibility for 28 voice channels. This product is designed for local distribution of voice in secure and commercial environments at distances up to 15 km. Using time division multiplexing techniques, the Versimux combines data, clock, and control signals for up to 28 voice channels over one fiber optic cable. Fully transparent operation assures telephone links that are both clear and reliable.

The Versimux has several features which are beneficial to the end-user. "Channel Hop" and "Sync-up" are eliminated, while expansion capabilities permit fast, easy and low cost system changes. Immediate System Status Indication is provided for each port allowing the monitoring of an individual channel status at a glance. In addition, built-in diagnostic circuits on port cards permit testing channels in either loop-back or point-to-point modes. Furthermore, a proprietary framing technique that is immune to signal patterns allows for instantaneous channel synchronization to assure signal integrity. The Versimux platform is centered around a 19 rack-mount chassis with redundant power and monitoring units. A "smart" card performs the mux/demux process and up to 14 port cards accept inputs from standard analog telephones. The Versimux comes with a lifetime warranty.
