TEC Source Meter

The Model 2510 TEC Source Meter was designed for testing and control of the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) portion of Laser Diode Modules (LDMs) used in fiber-optic telecom applications
N/A510 TEC Source Meter was designed for testing and control of the thermoelectric cooler (TEC) portion of Laser Diode Modules (LDMs) used in fiber-optic telecom applications.
N/A510 provides a combination of source, measurement, and temperature control capabilities:
- N/A510's 50 watt source features programmable power, current and temperature limits offer protection against damage to the device under test.
- A software-based, digital P-I-D (proportional-integral-differential) temperature control loop provides temperature stability to within ±0.005°C of setpoint. This enables tighter control over optical wavelengths emitted by laser diodes, and increases the level of confidence in test data.
- N/A510 is compatible with sensors that include thermistors (100W, 1kW, 10kW, 100kW), RTDs (100W), and semiconductor temperature sensors (AD590, LM335). Four-wire source/measure for thermistors and RTDs enhance measurement accuracy by eliminating lead length effects for low-level measurements.
- An AC ohms function has been incorporated to enable more accurate testing of the TEC Peltier heater/cooler following assembly of the module where physical damage of the TEC is possible.
It also enables a complete LIV (Light Intensity – Current – Voltage) Test system for LDM production testing using existing company products. IEEE-488 and RS-232 interfaces are built-in. Trigger Link and Digital I/O is also available for synchronized triggering and control of handlers, among others.
