N/Ar coatings are specifically designed for direct application onto fiber ends, ferrules, and GRIN rod lenses. The HDP process allows the company to deposit thin film designs that were previously available only on glass because of temperature or durability concerns. The low temperature coating deposits the dielectric materials with tremendous energy resulting in extremely dense and stable filter designs, according to the company. These designs are all dielectric, non-absorbing and exhibit environmental durability even under severe humidity conditions.
A variety of LWP (longwave pass) and SWP (shortwave pass) designs are available.
