SONET/SDH/ATM OC-48 2.5 Gbps Clock and DataRecovery (CDR) Device
The S3047, a SONET/SDH/ATM OC-48 2.5 Gbps Clock and DataRecovery (CDR) device

The S3047 is a SONET/SDH/ATM OC-48 2.5 Gbps Clock and DataRecovery (CDR) device, is capable of operating without an external reference clock. It is designed to meet the specialized needs of optical module manufacturers. The S3047 is fabricated in the company's proprietary Micropower bipolar process and complies with ANSI, Bellcore, and ITU-T specifications for jitter tolerance, transfer, and generation.

Using a self-acquisition phase locked loop to eliminate the need for an external reference clock, the S3047 is targeted for use by designers of optical modules and Dense Wave Division Multiplexing (DWDM) applications. The chip also provides a strong combination of jitter performance, power consumption, and operating temperature range. The attached diagram illustrates a typical networking application using the S3047.
