SDH/SONET Test Set

The ST2400A SDH/SONET Test Set from Tektronix optimizes for DWDM client system testing. The set emulates the characteristics of an SDH or SONET network element. It is optimized for testing the transmission quality of 2.488 Gb/s STM-16 (SDH) or OC-48 (SONET) networks transported over WDM systems.

In network operations, the set can be used in active or passive monitoring applications to validate DWDM and OC-48 performance. It is flexible enough to support a variety of other needs, particular network element commissioning and cross-boundary network validation tests.

To minimize test time, the set can be used to test all channels of a DWDM system in parallel. One optical input signal is split multiple ways, and the test person deploys this setup with the necessary number of ST2400As at the receive end.
