RAID Controllers

The CRD-7400 Fibre Channel-to-Fibre Channel and CRD-7040 Ultra160 SCSI RAID controllers have been added to the growing Titan family of high-performance RAID controllers. The new controllers, utilizing third generation CMD Titan architecture, provide high-end availability, performance and data integrity to users of mission critical applications. They provide high levels of field proven functionality and rock solid features. To ensure broad scalability and flexibility, the 7400 controller supports 2 Fibre Channel (FC-AL) host ports, 2 Fibre Channel (FC-AL) disk ports with up to 248 Fibre Channel disk drives while the 7040 supports two Ultra160 SCSI host channels, two Ultra160 SCSI disk channels and up to 28 SCSI drives.

The OS independent CRD-7400 is configured in an easy-to-integrate board only version or single or dual four channel Fibre Channel/Fibre Channel 5.25" full height chassis and is outfitted with an array of advanced features. The feature set includes single or dual hot-pluggable controller configurations with active/active or active/passive flexibility and delivers solid performance via dual 100MB/s Fibre Channel host channels and dual 100MB/s Fibre Channel disk channels.

RAID Management Software (RMS) allows for easy controller configuration and management. The AutoRebind component further provides automatic fail-back support. The CRD-7400 also touts the manufacturer's SANmask host LUN masking technology to control user access within shared access environments. Other advanced features include mirrored cache memory, non-disruptive online firmware updates, online RAID level migration and RAID set expansion.

The CRD-7040 Ultra160 SCSI redundant RAID controller uses the latest generation SCSI technology, shares a common packaging and is backplane compatible with Titan CRD-7220 and CRD-7240. The 7040 features redundant, hot-swappable controllers and combines the peerless failover model with Ultra160 SCSI for the most demanding data storage environments.
