The 1x8 Prism Switch provides channel selection from a single input fiber to one of eight output fibers. Actuated electrically and operating independently of data rate and signal format, the component uses moving prisms between fixed collimators. The switch is used for network monitoring applications with up to eight tap fibers. It is housed in a compact, environmentally stable package designed for mounting on a printed circuit board or within a module.
