PF.Net Awards $32 Million Fiber Installation Contract to International FiberCom

The Infrastructure Development Division of International FiberCom Inc. (Phoenix) won a $32-million design-build contract from Washougal, WA-based PF.Net. The contract is for the engineering and installation of a fiber-optic network in the Southwestern U.S. Engineering services for the estimated 14-month project are expected to begin this month, and network installation should commence in January 2000.

According to IFCI chairman and CEO Joseph Kealy, International FiberCom's work on this portion of PFNet's network segment is part of the design, engineering, and installation of a long-haul fiber backbone capable of delivering data, video, and voice nationwide currently under construction by PF.Net.
