PDC8023Z-9C 9 Slots 10/100/1000Mbps Gigabit Ethernet Chassis Switch
The switch is built on a powerful ASIC based 16 Gbps backplane switching fabric allowing network managers to control the bandwidth, and improve traffic flow or link network segments to a data center. The switch supports wire-speed Layer-2 data forwarding with VLAN, IP Multicast, QoS (Quality of Service for data prioritization) and other network-enhanced features. This enterprise chassis based switch supports a wide variety of switched 10/100/1000 Ethernet interfaces with flexible media options and is ideal for a range of applications including power workgroups, backbones, or connecting network segments to server farms.
Selling Points:
- 16 Gbps ASIC-based Backplane with Embedded RISC processor for future features and applications.
- Fully chassis based switching system with 9 slots for different modules interfaces
- Support multi-service networks for telephony, video, and data integration
- High density switch supports up to 192 10/100Base-TX or 16 Gigabit Ethernet port
- Perfect for campus wiring closets or a high-capacity Gigabit Ethernet backbone applications
Key Features:
- Nine slot modular chassis allows complete flexibility in configuration
- Supports a wide variety of switched 10/100/1000 Ethernet interface with flexible media options to meet any network requirement
- High capacity backplane with 16Gbps
- Multiple Priority Queues (QoS) to ensure bandwidth and priority for different network application
- Expansion module options include 24-port 10/100 Base-TX switched Ethernet modules, a 2-port Gigabit Ethernet module with GBIC slots
- Different expansion modules can be mixed for additional flexibility
- Two GBIC Gigabit Ethernet module can be configured with any combination of 1000SX, 1000LX or 1000LX (Long Haul) GBIC interfaces.
- All interface, power supplies, and management modules are hot-swappable
- Node Intrusion feature provides per port security allowing the network manager to specify which MAC is authorized per port. Only that MAC address is allowed to connect to that specific port.
- Built-in Web-based management providing chassis management, module management, port-level control and monitoring.
- Also manageable via Telnet, Console, or third party SNMP console.
- Supports up to 64 port-based VLANs (IEEE802.1Q compliant) for security, logical network design and controlling broadcast traffic.
- Standards compliance 802.1Q specifies VLAN Tagging for trunking VLANs from switch to switch or switch to router
- Standards based IGMP snooping for control of multi- cast traffic generated by applications like video to ensure network performance.
- Spanning Tree Protocol detects and eliminates data loops and also provides a self healing feature for network resilience
