Parallel Fiber Optic Data Link

A parallel fiber optic link offers 18 Gigabit/sec bandwidth with a density eight times higher than current 1 x 9 serial transceiver products. The parallel array modules can deliver up to 1.5 Gbits/sec/channel data rates on 12 channels over multimode ribbon fiber cable, and are IEC Class 1 eye-safe. The bi-polar driver/receiver circuits and high fidelity electrical/optical packaging offer maximum signal integrity at high data rates. The fiber optic data links are designed for high bandwidth, high density, point-to-point interconnects, allowing both parallel and multichannel serial data transmission. Design options include: 4 to 12 channels of point-to-point data transmission; additional electrical interface pins for status and control functions; AC coupled or optional DC clock-forwarded data stream options; LVDS or PECL interface configurations; board-edge, in-board and thru-backplane mounting options.
