OTDR for Optical Supervisory Channels

A family of rack-mounted optical time domain reflectometers monitor pulsewidths from 10 µs to 10 ns with dynamic ranges of 34 dB and 17 dB, respectively. The E6053A and E6058A operate at a central wavelength of 1310 nm and 1550 nm, ±25 nm, while the E6060A operates at 1625 nm ±20 nm. All are designed for use with singlemode fiber, with a loss accuracy of ±0.05 dB, a reflectance accuracy of ±2.0 dB, and a distance offset error of ±1 m. The event dead zone is 5 m for all three models.
