Optical Submarine Cable System

N/Ah Division Multiplexing (WDM) based 160 Gbps (10 Gbps x 16) optical submarine cable system is called "SLR160S". This system has the ability to upgrade on 320 Gbps(10 Gbps x 32).

The product can be used for transmission between center stations and islands, landing points and center stations, and coastal link transmission systems, as well as in the upgrading of existing submarine cable systems. Furthermore, the product is effective for terrestrial transmission networks.

Features include:

• A high-power booster amplifier and remotely pumped amplifier make it possible to transmit 160 Gbps /fiber pair signals over 300 km without any repeater.
  
• As this is a non-repeated system, neither power feeding equipment nor repeater monitoring equipment are required.
  
• The upgrade from 10 Gbps to 160 Gbps can be implemented in service without stopping the operation of the system.
  
• SDH/SONET interfaces are available for low speed interfaces (Tributary interfaces).
  
• Optical transmission output 24 mW, 250 mW, 500 mW, 1 W are available for high speed interfaces (line interfaces), so they can be selectable in accordance with the transmission distance.
  
• ITU-T Q3 interface is available for network management, so it can be connected with network management system.
