Optigain, Inc.n's Model 4000 Series Optical Gain Block is a compact, board-mountable 980 nm pumped gain module. The unit is optimized to provide low noise, high gain, and high power optical amplification for the third telecommunications window, between 1530 to 1560 nm.

The EDFA is powered and governed via a 15 pin male connector. Designed to be board mountable, the unit is equipped with laser and photo detectors for monitoring performance.

It has an optical noise figure of ~4 dB, and a bandwidth between 1530-1560 nm. Its operating temperature is between -5 and 50°C, and storage temperature between -40 and 70°C. Its relative humidity is 95% non-condensing.
