Optical Fiber

A high bandwidth multimode fiber is suitable for emerging Gigabit Ethernet protocols. The 62.5/125µm fiber will support link lengths up to 300 m at 850 nm and 550 m at 1300 nm. The 50/125µm fiber will support link lengths up to 600 m in both the 850 nm and 1300 nm operating windows. The longer link lengths are well suited for Campus, Backbone, Riser, and Fiber-to-the Desk (FTTD) applications.

The 62.5/125 fiber is available in 200/500 MHz-km, 200/600 MHz-km, 250/800 MHz-km bandwidths. The 50/125 fiber is available in 500/500 MHz-km or 600/1200 MHz-km bandwidths. These products are currently available for sale and use in Europe, Asia-Pacific, Middle East, Africa, and South America only.

Also, the company recently introduced the line of ValueGrade and EconoGrade optical fibers. These fibers are available in single-mode and multi-mode designs, and are suited for Feeder Loop, Fiber-to-the Curb, (FTTC), Fiber-to-the Home (FTTH), and Fiber-to-the Desk (FTTD) applications.
