OFC '99: Multifiber PM Termination

PM fiber alignment technology has been combined with array polishing techniques to develop the first commercially available MT-compatible push-pull PM multifiber connector. These connectors simultaneously connect up to 12 fibers. All fibers can be aligned by the fast or slow axis. Multifiber assemblies are available broken out into individual fibers or terminated with multifiber PM connectors on both ends. Multifiber connectors are available with most 125 µm PM fibers. Fiber-to-fiber losses are similar to single fiber connectors.
