OFC '99: L-BAND EDFA

A dual-stage erbium-doped fiber amplifier pumped at 980 nm for laboratory applications features a low noise figure and high gain in the L-band spectral region in the 1566 to 1605nm transmission window. The FAL's Gain curve is uniform within 1 dB from 1570 to 1600nm.
