North American Telecom Completes Manhattan Fiber Optic Network
Facilities-based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) North American Telecommunications Corp. (Natelco; Westbury, NY) has finished its fiber optic network in Manhattan. This fiber optic ring links directly to the Westbury, NY digital switching facility. Natelco also announced their collocation at two Bell Atlantic facilities, West Street and Broad Street in Manhattan, opening up the entire Manhattan financial district to the company's integrated communications services. By September 1999, 80% of the businesses in Manhattan will have access to the products and services offered by the company.
