NIR Spectroscopy Using InGaAs PDAs

Tampa, FL — StellarNet offers low-cost high-resolution fiber optic spectrometers for NIR ranges covering 0.9-1.7um and 1.5-2.2um. The miniature instruments are portable and have no moving optical parts. Connection to PCs are made via high speed USB-2 or parallel port. The InGaAs detectors are photo diode ar-rays with 512 or 1024 elements and are TEC cooled. Each pixel is 25um wide and 500um tall for high sensitivity. A 2.5 MHz digitizer acquires NIR spectra in 1ms. Several models provide a variety of ranges and resolutions. The units are ruggedized for portable or lab spectroscopy applications. An optional Lithium-Ion battery accessory allows instrument operation for up to 6 hours with the InGaAs detector TEC cooler enabled to operate at -10 deg C.

SpectraWiz software provides measurements for chemical analysis using ab-sorption, transmittance, and reflectance. NIR models in the 0.9-1.7um range can be spectroradiometrically calibrated to measure absolute light intensity. Customizable programs are also included to operate directly from LabView, and Excel+VBA (Visual Basic Automation).
