NFOEC: Arrayed Waveguide Grating
The AWG is reliable and offers significant functionality in a compact package format (75mm x 44mm x 20mm). This device combines and splits optical signals of different wavelengths for use in DWDM systems. The core of the device, the AWG, consists of a range of arrayed channel waveguides, which together act like a diffraction grating in a spectrometer. The grating provides a high wavelength resolution, thus attaining narrow wavelength channel spacings and a low insertion loss.
Features:
Flexibility of configuration, chip package or module
Industry accepted silica on silicon technology
Low insertion loss
Standard and flattened passband
