SensorPhysics has dramatically lowered the cost of ownership for spatially profiling laser beams – from $3500 to $999. The new LS-2000 LaserTest is the third such product introduced by SensorPhysics since 1990. The LaserTest consists of a small PCI card or USB interface or for notebook computers a PC card and full 32 bit Windows based software optimized for Windows 95/98/NT. Under Win 98 the USB version allows any standard camera to plugged into the USB port of a computer to have an "instant" beam profiler. No more lugging heavy computers and monitors around the lab. And for the ultimate in portability the PC Card LS-2000N installs in standard Type II PC Card slots on notebook computers. A full range of statistical functions is provided; including XY profiles, beam statistics and M2 measurements. Any analog video source can be used as the input to cover all wavelength lasers and LEDs. On screen calibration allows both very large and very small fiber optic beams to be measured.
The USB LaserTest can be used with USB based LaserWave wavelength meters to combine spatial beam profiles with wavelength measurement. Examples of the applications can be found at www.sensorphysics.com and in a new booklet of tech notes available from SensorPhysics. The USB interface offers ease of installation on a wide range of Windows based PCs in addition to a dramatic reduction in price.
