NAS Turns Up East Coast Fiber Capacity for DSL Business

Network Access Solutions (NAS) has assembled a wide area network (WAN) running from Boston to Richmond by leasing 45 Mbps of capacity from both MCI WorldCom and Level 3, reports NAS spokesman Jason Baum. The fully redundant 499-mile meshed ATM backbone connects NAS's digital subscriber line (DSL) offerings to businesses throughout Baltimore, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, Richmond, Washington, D.C., and Wilmington.

NAS plans to connect Norfolk and Pittsburgh by early summer, 1999.

Founded in 1994, NAS provides broadband data services from Maine through Virginia to large companies via a hybrid DSL/frame relay/ATM network that spans the Bell Atlantic region.
