MRV's OptiSwitch 930 Wins NXTcomm Best Of Show For Technology Innovation In Optical Networking

Chatsworth, CA - MRV Communications, Inc. the provider of products and services for WDM and optical transport, metro Ethernet, fiber optic components, 10GE, out-of-band networking and other optical networking products, today announced its new OptiSwitch 930 has been chosen as the winner of the optical networking category in NXTcomm's best of show "Eos" awards. The OS930 is now a candidate for the NXTcomm Spotlight Award for best product overall. The OptiSwitch 930 will be on display in MRV's booth (7824).

According to the company, MRV's OS930 is the industry's first carrier-class 10-Gigabit Ethernet services demarcation platform, offering advanced multi-layer end-to-end service OAM and dynamic, hierarchical QoS automation for bandwidth management. The device constitutes a major step forward for cost-effective 10GE carrier services and access, enabling service providers to meet the ever-increasing bandwidth demands of Fortune 1000 enterprises.

Named for the Greek goddess of the dawn, the NXTcomm Eos Awards acknowledge contributions to advancement and excellence in information, communications, entertainment and technology. Award winners are honored for best new technology or enterprise solution in 12 categories covering the entire range of wireless, broadband and next-generation technologies and services for both public and enterprise networks. Nominated vendors must have announced their products no earlier than Sept. 1, 2006 and have them for sale no later than July 1, 2007.
