Moxa Launches CAN-To-Fiber Converter With Simple Fiber Test Mode

4

Taipei, Taiwan - Moxa is pleased to release the ICF-1170I series, a new line of CAN-to-fiber converters that secure data transmission by using fiber optic transmission to provide complete isolation and protection against EMI. The unique "Fiber Test Mode" feature of ICF-1170I is a time-saving way to test transmissions status that simply activates a DIP switch and then displays signal status with LEDs.

To maintain continuous operations even during power interruptions, the ICF-1170I features a built-in redundant power input and relay function. When the primary power input fails, the unit quickly activates the redundant power input and sends an immediate alarm signal to the control center.

The ICF-1170I series features fast baudrate transmissions of up to 1 Mbps, rugged metal housing, UL 508 industrial safety certifications, and wide temperature modes that operate between -40 to 85°C, creating a most rugged solution for industrial applications such as factory and building automation.

Features:

  • Transmits up to 2 km over optical fiber
  • Converts CAN signals to fiber and fiber to CAN signals
  • DIP switch for 120 O terminal resistance
  • LEDs for Fiber TX, Fiber RX, Power 1, Power 2
  • Fully compatible with the ISO 11898 standard
