Source: Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN)
Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN) network provider <%=company%> (MFN; New York) has leveraged its intra-city Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN) infrastructure in Europe and North America to create an extensive pan-European network of more than 6,000 route miles of long-haul fiber. Under an agreement with Viatel (New York), a builder of European long-haul Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN) networks, MFN will add more than 4,500 route miles of long-haul fiber to the national ring it is currently building in Germany in collaboration with Viatel.

The new pan-European backbone that results will connect a number of key cities in Europe, including the leading business, financial, and trading districts of London; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Brussels, Belgium; Paris; Frankfurt and Dusseldorf, Germany; and Geneva and Zurich, Switzerland. As part of the agreement, Viatel secures intra-city fiber from MFN in New York, London, Amsterdam, Paris, Frankfurt, Berlin, and Dusseldorf, accelerating Viatel's entry into the local-access business in those markets.
