The OSMF 5.0 is a next-generation element manager, for modern carrier-class synchronization and timing infrastructures. Designed for telecom and bandwidth providers from local to multi national, it is a scalable, open vendor and web-based management platform. The product's ability to both control and monitor the synchronization network allows operators to shift their focus to predictive and preventative maintenance leading to reduced down time, lowered costs, and enhanced Quality of Service (QoS). Its advanced monitoring and reporting capabilities also provide benefits in validating Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

The system's additional features enable the telecom operator to manage a heterogeneous network via an intuitive Graphical User Interface (GUI), with a consistent look and feel on any Web browser application. It fits into any management strategy carriers chose – from alarm monitoring and reporting to alarm correlation based on intelligent systems, including full management and proactive/preventive maintenance.
