Lucent Technologies Lands $330 Million Fiber Contract With Metromedia Fiber Network

Metromedia Fiber Network (MFN)> (MFN; New York) has signed a $330 million agreement with Lucent Technologies to install Lucent's AllWave and TrueWave RS fiber in MFN's networks in North America and Europe. This agreement makes MFN Lucent's largest AllWave fiber customer to date.

MFN will deploy the Lucent fiber as it builds out its fiber-optic networks in 67 markets in North America and Europe. Through this agreement and others, MFN is ensuring access to the fiber it will require for its aggressive plan to install 3.6 million fiber miles internationally by 2004.
