Panther is a new line of miniature surface mount, voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXO's) that exhibit extremely clean, exceptionally low jitter properties. This product line (Model 333) provides one of the lowest jitter (less than 1 pSec), commercially available VCXO's on the market today. The new line complements the company's line of frequency products for data communications including SONET, Gigabit Ethernet, ATM, STM-1, STS-3c and OC-3 applications.

Packaged in a standard 9x14mm hermetically sealed SMT ceramic package, the new fundamental oscillators (Models 333L and 333S) operate on +3.3Vdc or +5.0Vdc respectively. All oscillators employ the company's proprietary high frequency fundamental crystal technology and are available in popular frequencies like 77.76 MHz and 155.52 MHz. Since the fundamental crystal frequency is the same as the output, no frequency multiplication is required, thus eliminating the excess noise and sub-harmonics that typically result from the frequency multiplication process using PLL or multiplication techniques.

The oscillators are designed to provide a guaranteed minimum Absolute Pull Range (APR) of +/-50ppm for 20 years, inclusive of all conditions. The typical Frequency vs. Temperature Variation over -40 degrees to +85 degrees C is +/-15ppm. The Nominal Frequency Deviation at +25 degrees C at the time of shipment is +/-120ppm. Fundamental Crystal Frequency Ranges are from 40.00 MHz to 167.00 MHz.
