Isolator/Bandpass Filter
Source: DiCon Fiberoptics, Inc.
This hybrid product combines an in-line isolator with a customer-specified bandpass filter in a single component package to reduce the insertion loss, PDL, package size, and assembly costs of both erbium and Raman fiber gain modules.
DiCon Fiberoptic, Inc., a leading manufacturer of fiberoptic components, modules, and test instruments, introduces a new hybrid Isolator/Bandpass Filter for use in fiber amplifiers. This hybrid product combines an in-line isolator with a customer-specified bandpass filter in a single component package to reduce the insertion loss, PDL, package size, and assembly costs of both erbium and Raman fiber gain modules. Depending on the choice of internal thin film filters, the Isolator/Bandpass Filter can be designed to reject unwanted pump signals, ASE noise, or other ITU channels while isolating the rest of the amplifier from unwanted back-reflected and back-scattered signals. Isolator/Bandpass Filters are available with either Single Stage or Dual Stage Isolators and have been tested to Telcordia GR-1221.
