High Power All-In Fibre Linearly Polarized Laser Using Chiral Grating-Based Polarizer
Source: Chiral Photonics

Different products are available on the market and previous works have demonstrated other methods to obtain linearly polarized fibre lasers. A well-known method consists in using narrow linewidth cross-matched Fibre Bragg Gratings (FBG) for polarization selection [1]; others are based on integrating a polarization dependent loss element into the fibre laser cavity. This can be, for instance, a tilted FBG, a large mode area coiled fibre, or a polarizing photonic crystal fibre [2]. In this letter we use a new Chiral Grating based Polarizer (CGP).
