GST to Deploy Corning Leaf Optical Fiber

Integrated Communications Provider GST Telecommunications Inc. is deploying Corning Inc.'s Corning LEAF optical fiber as part of its West Coast network. Alcoa Fujikura Ltd. will cable the fiber with its loose tube cable product. Terms were not disclosed.

The Los Angeles to San Francisco portion of GST's long haul network is fully operational. Additional segments are under construction between San Francisco and Sacramento and Sacramento and Portland.
