Gigabit Ethernet transceivers and converter

Users can connect to Gigabit Ethernet switches with their existing single-mode fiber using transceivers and a converter, protecting their current media investment while extending their capabilities to Gigabit Ethernet.

The converter and transceiver products provide full data conversion and transmission capabilities across single-mode, multi-mode and dual multi-mode or single-mode fiber connections, providing single mode fiber runs as long as seven kilometers.

The MIL-1240SX and MIL-1240LX are redundant transceivers with Gigabit Ethernet capabilities. The MIL-1240SX converts 1000BASE-SX multi-mode fiber into a redundant pair of 1000BASE-SX multi-mode fiber ports. The 1240LX converts the 1000BASE-SX multi-mode fiber into a redundant pair of 1000BASE-LX single-mode fiber ports.

If the primary link goes down, the product activates the secondary port within nine nanoseconds and reactivates the primary port when restored. The products also include diagnostic LEDs that provide power and connection status on the main, primary and secondary ports. An optional, hot-swappable, redundant power supply is also available for adding more network integrity to the link. The MIL-1225LS performs media conversion from 1000BASE-SX multi-mode fiber to 1000BASE-LX single-mode fiber. This product also contains diagnostic LEDs for power and connection verification and includes an optional, hot-swappable power supply for added redundancy. Both the transceivers and converter have UL, CSA, CE and FCC approvals for use worldwide.
