The ADVA FSP-I is a Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing (CWDM) system specifically designed for Enterprise and Service Providers that require a very cost-effective system that will transport high-speed data, voice, and storage applications.

Enterprise customers use the FSP-I to expand the reach and density of their network applications. ervice Providers deploy the FSP-I to terminate SONET/SDH applications in their metropolitan etwork while targeting new revenue opportunities for high-speed LAN and SAN services.

The modular architecture of the FSP-I comprises a rack-mountable 19" chassis and hot-swappable odules that can be selected to meet the network and application requirements. The system offers a variety of modules to perform specific network lement functions such as conversion, multiplexing, protection, and network management. The FSP-I transparent "fiber-in fiber-out" interfaces support all protocols between the range of 10 Mbit/s and 1.25 Gbit/s, including OC-3/-12, STM-1/-4, Gigabit Ethernet Sx, Gigabit Ethernet Lx, Fast Ethernet, FDDI, ATM, ESCON, FICON, Fibre Channel, Coupling Link or any proprietary protocol operating within the specified data range.

The FSP-I hardware design supports point-to-point network topologies. All systems can be managed via the FSP Element and Network Manager software to allow remote system operation and service provisioning.
