FiberPatrol Intrusion Detection System Deployed At NORAD/USAF Cheyenne Mountain Complex
Langhorne, PA - Optellios Inc. announced recently that it has successfully deployed its FiberPatrol FP5100 system for the protection of fiber optic communication lines within the NORAD/USAF Cheyenne Mountain Complex in Colorado Springs, CO. The FiberPatrol system, which actively monitors physical network pathways against intrusion, was installed as a joint effort between Optellios Inc. and a national defense contractor already operating on site.
"Our team exceeded the demanding performance and technological criteria for securing critical fiber-optic communication routes within the complex," said Jay Patel, CEO of Optellios. "We are proud to do our part in protecting our nation's critical infrastructures. We will be continuing our efforts to provide highly reliable and advanced products based on our patented technology."
Using advanced technology, Optellios' FiberPatrol system can analyze the slightest disturbance within the fiber-optic link to identify and locate potential threats to transmission integrity. Currently, FiberPatrol is deployed in both private and public facilities around the world protecting perimeter boundaries and communication pathways.
Final acceptance of the Cheyenne Mountain system in April, 2007 marks the conclusion of a rigorous long term testing and performance certification process.
