Fiber Optic Swab

The 2.5 mm Fiber Optic Swab is designed to remove transmission disrupting contaminants from critical bulkhead connections. The patent-pending design uses a 2.5 mm wrapped foam fiber optic swab with a special "flat-head" profile that conforms to various connector shapes – allowing the swab to thoroughly clean hard to reach corners inside the bulkhead pocket. The swab works wet or dry to remove both dirt and oil contaminants.

Designed to fit into the connector ferrule, the swab cleans the ferrule, connector core, and the corner sections of the connector pocket. Because of its design, the 2.5 mm Fiber Optic Swab reduces the amount of disassembly required to clean the connector.

Engineered clean to an ISO 9002 Certified Quality System, the new swab is manufactured with proprietary foam. No glues are used, so that leachable contaminants are minimized. Critically, the swab head contains no weld seams that can scratch the optical conductor surface.

With an overall length of 6 inches, the 2.5 mm Fiber Optic Swab has a polypropylene handle and comes in two packages: 5 swabs per bag (100 bags per box) and 100 swabs per bag (5 bags per box). The swab is compatible with Electro-Wash PX, and isopropyl alcohol.
