Toronto, Canada - GAO Tek Inc. has released its advanced fiber optic power meter which can be used in conjunction with different optical devices such as an optical light sources (OLS) or a visual fault locators (VFL) to allow optical network professionals to test their fibers at different wavelengths. The power meter features a rugged design, auto power-off, low-power consumption, a large LCD screen and superior source stability making it an ideal solution for field testing.

GAO Tek Inc.'s fiber optic power meter, model 560, offers three modulated signal frequencies including 270Hz, 1kHz and 2kHz. It provides an auto-wavelength recognition function to save test time and decrease potential errors. This power meter conducts absolute and reference tests and offers an excellent power testing range of -70dBm to 10dBm. It works over a wavelength range from 800nm to 1700nm. Calibrated basic wavelengths are 850nm, 1300nm, 1310nm and 1550nm. Its moveable connector allows for several types of connections such as FC and SC. Additionally, the optimized power meter works continuously for more than 200h when it is fully charged.
