The Mille Luce Model 1000 Fiber Optic Illuminator offers a 500% increase in lamp life over other EKE and EKE-HC 150 watt quartz halogen lamps, providing 1,000 hours of shadow-free, glare-free, cool illumination without any significant loss in light output, according to the company.

The Illuminator is designed to withstand the rigors of microscopy and machine vision system applications, including assembly, inspection, and medical laboratory analysis. A high-impact, polymer housing protects the internal components.

The device has a quick change, positive locking nosepiece. A slide potentiometer allows the user to adjust lamp intensity from 0 – 100%, and optional iris dimming is available when a constant color temperature is required. Other features include base mounting and multi-unit stacking capabilities, a separate on/off switch, an integrated handle, an internal IR filter, and easy lamp change.
