PD-LD Inc. offers a variety of standard Fabry-Perot and Distributed FeedBack (DFB) 1310, 1550 & 1625 nm laser diodes, in ready-to-use, fiber-coupled packages, including coaxial-pigtailed & FC, ST, & SC active receptacles. Both standard multimode and singlemode fibers are used. Fabry-Perot lasers emit at 1310, 1550 & 1625 nm; DFB lasers are 1310 & 1550 nm. Fiber-coupled continuous-wavelength (CW) output powers range from 0.2 – 2.0 mW depending on the fiber type coupled. PD-LD will also fiber-couple customer-supplied or –specified lasers using its standard parts and techniques. In addition, custom designs are accommodated. Optional panel- or board-mount flanges are available for pigtailed devices.

The InGaAsP laser diodes used are of proven design and manufacture. Lasers in 5.6 or 9.0 mm hermetically-sealed TO cans are used. Both F-P & DFB lasers at 1310 & 1550 nm have 4 pins (G-Type). A three-pin configuration for the 1310 nm LD is optional (P-Type); the 1625 nm LD pinout is either N-Type or M-Type, as defined by the device ID; pinouts are:

4 Pin:

G-Type: (LD (+) Anode case common; LD (-) cathode, PD (-) cathode, & PD (+) anode isolated

3 Pin:

N-Type: LD (+) Anode & PD (-)Cathode case common; PD-LD A (5.6 mm) or B (9.0 mm) Type;

P-Type: LD (-) Cathode & PD (+) Anode case common; PD-LD C (5.6 mm) or D (9.0 mm) Type; or

M-Type: LD (-) Cathode & PD (-) Cathode case common; PD-LD I (5.6 mm) or J (9.0 mm) Type.
