Fiber Manipulator

A 60-mm-long high-precision kinematic fiber manipulator couples fiber delivery systems to laser sources. The Kinematix P is compatible with a range of ion, solidstate, and semiconductor lasers. Four axes of fine adjustment are provided for a resolution of 50 nm. The manipulator is keyway-aligned, making it easy to use with polarization-preserving fiber. Both launch conditions and polarization performance are stable with time (less than 1% over 24 hr) and insensitive to thermal and mechanical perturbations in the operating environment.
