Fiber Management System

The Graybar Storefront of 3M Telecom Systems Division 2700 System is a complete fiber management system designed for flexibility in organizing high fiber density in premises wiring, CATV applications and telco installations. The system provides accessibility with its simple cabinet layout and the capacity to meet future needs. The system is designed for use with 96 or more fibers and holds up to five times the number of connections found in conventional fiber optic housing. Cut-to-length, 900 µm fiber jumpers avoid fiber slack in the system and make the fiber easier to handle.

Accommodating both multimode and single-mode fibers in the same splice, additional hardware such as splice trays or factory-loaded modules is not necessary in changing between modes. The system accommodates the addition of optical splitters, couplers, attenuators or WDMs all on one connector card. The company's remateable connector technology used in the fiber management system works to decrease technician time while requiring only splicing skills to terminate. The system also meets the TIA TSB-72 requirements for Centralized Optical Fiber Cabling Guidelines.

For fiber management and maintenance flexibility, the system's Fiber Interconnect Record Management System (F.I.R.M.S.) software can maintain up to 5,760 individual fiber jumpers and generate reports and graphics on any jumper in the system. The software also allows users to add, move, view and delete jumpers or equipment.
