Driven by the rapid increase in the demand for greater transmission capacity, DWDM has emerged as the key transmission technique
Driven by the rapid increase in the demand for greater transmission capacity, DWDM has emerged as the key transmission technique. There is continuous pressure to increase the number of DWDM channels and this in turn calls for improved performance from the passive multiplexing components. As channel spacing decrease, narrower channel passbands demand improved filter characteristics beyond the capability of some conventional technologies. Fiber Bragg Gratings can produce very narrow band filters with almost square wavelength response functions together with low losses.

MPB offers a range of Bragg Gratings including very high performance gratings suitable for DWDM terminal equipment and ADM.

Fiber Bragg Gratings are now qualified to Telcordia GR-1209 and GR-1221.
