e.spire Subsidiary Inks Deal With PSINet

N/Ak Technologies Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of e.spire Communications Inc. (Annapolis Junction, MD), has won a contract to provide <%=company%> (Herndon, VA) PSINet with local area fiber-optic networks in Atlanta and Miami. The network will be a combination of long-term dark fiber leases and design, construction, and delivery of new fiber-optic networks in both cities. ACSI NT will also provide 20-year maintenance and emergency service for the leased portions of the networks. The company plans to deliver the Atlanta network in February and the Miami network later this year.

PSINet will use the local area fiber to bring high-speed connectivity into its future hosting centers in Atlanta and Miami, as well as to its points of presence (POPs) in the central business districts of both cities. PSINet owns a globally-distributed IP network and offers business customers a Web-hosting e-commerce environment consisting of 2 million sq. ft. of infrastructure under development in 24 centers on five continents.
