Enablence Technologies Granted Two Patents For Dispersion Bridge Technology
Ottawa, Ontario Enablence Technologies Inc., a developer of Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) modems, recently announced that it has been granted patents by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for "Double Diffraction Grating Planar Lightwave Circuit" and for "Planar Waveguide Reflective Diffraction Grating."
"These patents further protect Enablence's Dispersion Bridge technology used for the design and manufacture of Planar Lightwave Circuits (PLC) for optical components," explained Arvind Chhatbar, the Chief Executive Officer of Enablence Technologies Inc. "The Planar Waveguide Reflective Diffraction Grating patent provides broad protection over Enablence's Dispersion Bridge grating technology while the Double Diffraction Grating Planar Lightwave Circuit patent provides broad protection of Enablence's PLC filter architecture for Fiber-to-the-Home components," explained Mr. Chhatbar.
"These two patents are further endorsement that Enablence is well positioned to address the emerging Fiber-to-the-Home market with Planar Lightwave Circuit based triplexers and diplexers," commented Mr. Chhatbar. "Enablence is extremely proud to secure these two Dispersion Bridge technology patents and to further expand our patent portfolio," added Arvind Chhatbar.
In December 2005, Enablence acquired a portfolio of more than 30 patents and patent applications that relate to the design and manufacture of integrated optical components from a company in the United States.
