ECI Telecom Launches Integrated Bandwidth Management Box

Source: ECI Telecom
ECI Telecom00, <%=company%> Ltd. (Petah Tikvah, Israel) plans to launch XDM, an optical platform. XDM is the first product to have integrated within a single shelf the functionality of a DWDM optical networking multiplexer; narrow, wide, and broadband Digital Cross-Connects; IP routing; ATM switching; and SDH Add-Drop-Multiplexers. A single XDM system can terminate terabit fibre while simultaneously providing direct subscriber connections at any speed from 64kb/s up to STM-64 (10Gb/s).

The XDM matrix allows full non-blocking Low Order (VC-12) connectivity of hundreds of STM-1s in a single shelf the size of a regular ADM. It allows direct mapping of any 2Mb/s into any of STM-16 or STM-64 or DWDM aggregates, thus providing the industry's first multi-ADM-64 or Optical ADM (OADM) with full low order connectivity. The XDM switch fabric capacity is expandable to thousands of STM-1 equivalents.

A working system will be presented at ECI Telecom's booth ECI Telecom00, Hall 17, Booth C34-1. Beta systems will be delivered to selected customers during midyear and full production will take place during the second half of 2000.
