An optical test kit was designed to provide test technicians with an instrument kit for making power and loss measurements in the fiberoptic LAN environment. The test kit consists of a LANLITE series power meter, light source, laminated instruction manual, 9V batteries, and a waterproof carry case. LANLITE test sets are built of machined aluminum, not plastic. The test set, when stored in its carry case, will survive being submerged in up to several feet of water. The test kit offers 850nm and 1300nm operation to provide power or loss measurement solutions for most fiber testing challenges in the LAN environment. To make a power measurement, connect the fiber, flip the power switch and begin testing.
