Digital Cross-Connect Products

Software release upgrades for the entire SONET family of digital cross-connect systems (DCS) were announced by Alcatel. The releases offer a comprehensive testing program that demonstrates adherence to appropriate Year 2000 standards.

The upgrade releases and their improvements include the 1633 SX broadband cross-connect that supports OC-12c and STM-4c optics; the 1631 SX LMC Release 7 that has a marquee feature offered on a wideband cross-connect, allowing it to act as a node on multiple rings; and the 1630 SX Release 7 that includes features that apply to both traffic protection and office modernization.
